LIMERICK’S home cooks will be able to turn out a Christmas dinner like never before after one of Ireland’s top chefs, Neven Maguire, last week delivered a special cooking demonstration ahead of the big day.
The award winning celebrity chef and patron of Limerick-based charity Bóthar delivered a seasonal treat as he took them through the cooking of a Christmas dinner with a difference recently at the Castletroy Park Hotel.
The cooking demonstration was in aid of the international aid agency’s Christmas Appeal and saw Neven serve up a delightful alternative dinner for the big day that included chestnut and mushroom soup, roast duck and broken down cheesecake.
Bóthar also assembled a Christmas Artisan Market for the night, with ten stands ranging from food to arts and craft producers exhibiting their wares at the event.
It has been a busy few weeks for Bóthar with Neven Maguire’s demonstration coming on top of its successful world record Santa hat bid at Thomond Park and a Civic Reception for the organisation given by Limerick City Council to mark its 21st anniversary.
