ONE of the first music events to take place in the stunning new Lime Tree Theatre features a special collaboration between the popular Shannon Gospel Choir and top Irish singer-songwriter Paddy Casey this Saturday night.
The brand new, state of the art 510-seater venue has welcomed some top theatre productions in just a short period of operation, but the Lime Tree will be filled with song this weekend as the choir continue their long running association with Casey in a live show this Saturday.
The choir, who perform an eclectic mix of contemporary songs from Jessie J to Earth Wind & Fire, recently appeared on Casey’s recent single Wait, and have formed a deep relationship with the Saints and Sinners’ star. Indeed, they will perform with him on the Late Late Show this Friday night.
Both acts will perform before combining for a rousing chorus of some of Casey’s best known songs.
In their short time together the Shannon Gospel Choir have sung at concerts and festivals around Ireland and have also performed with Declan O’Rourke, the Harlem Gospel Choir, as well as playing support to Paul Brady.
They were winners of RTE’s search for a top choir to sing in the Grand Canal theatre at the premiere of the Sister Act musical, in addition to having previously appeared singing a number of songs live on RTE television.
The Shannon Gospel Choir play in the Lime Tree Theatre, Saturday, October 13 @ 8pm. Tickets €16/13. Log onto Lime Tree for a full programme of events
