THE SEARCH to find the next Mister and Miss Limerick is well underway with a bevvy of beauties and a host of handsome gents putting their name forward in the hope of taking home the sash and crown.
There has been a number of changes in terms of criteria for entering the Miss Ireland World this year - there is no longer a height requirement for the contestants.
“The lifting of the height restriction means that the competition is wide open,” said model agent Celia Holman Lee who is organising the event.
The final of both the Mister and Miss Limerick contest will take place in Crush 87 nightclub at The Granary on Thursday, May 8.
“We have a great reputation in Limerick for choosing top class ladies and gents to represent us on the national and even international stage and this year I’m sure will be no different. Former Mr Limerick, Kamal Ibrahim, of course went on to win the Mr World contest and we have had some exceptional ladies do us proud both here in Ireland and abroad in terms of the Miss World contest,” said Celia.
Contestants in the Miss Limerick competition must have reached the age of 17 years and not have turned 24 by November; have never entered into a civil marriage ceremony or have any children. They must hold an Irish passport.
The Miss Ireland final 2014 will take place in late July in Dublin. Males entering the Mister Limerick contest should be aged between 18 and 29. They must also hold an Irish passport and never have entered a marriage ceremony. All prospective contestants can contact the Holman-Lee Agency or Crush 87 nightclub for entry forms.
