The Saw Doctors will take to the stage in Limerick this August
THE legendary Irish rockers The Saw Doctors will make a triumphant return to Limerick for a headline performance at Live at the Docklands later this summer.
Known for their infectious energy and heartfelt songwriting, The Saw Doctors continue to thrill fans across generations with their iconic hits and high-octane live shows.
Hot off the back of a huge show at Musgrave Park in Cork, The Saw Doctors are riding high on a wave of renewed acclaim and fan adoration. Their 2023 comeback was nothing short of spectacular, with packed-out shows in London, New York, and a massive homecoming in Tuam that marked their return to the stage after a five-year break.
Formed in Tuam, Co Galway in the late 1980s, The Saw Doctors were discovered by Mike Scott of The Waterboys and quickly rose to prominence with the record-breaking single I Useta Lover, which spent nine weeks at number one in the Irish charts—outperforming both U2 and Sinéad O’Connor. Their blend of sharp lyrics, soaring melodies and Irish storytelling earned them a place in the hearts of fans worldwide.

Led by original members Davy Carton (vocals) and Leo Moran (guitar), the band’s current line-up includes Anthony Thistlethwaite (saxophone), Rickie O’Neill (drums), Pearse Doherty (bass), Kieran Duddy (keys), Noelie McDonnell and Tommy Carton (backing vocals). With a reputation for legendary live performances, The Saw Doctors have played to sold-out crowds across Ireland, the UK, and the US, including Glastonbury, T in the Park, and New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
Mick Dolan, of Dolans Presents said at the launch:
“The Saw Doctors have a long history in Limerick. They performed at the Docks in 2008 as part of the D Festival, which has since become the Docklands Festival. That was an amazing show, and I expect August 15th to be no different. The Saw Doctors are now added to a nine-show bill spread over 15 days. They’ll join an incredible line-up including Moncrieff, Picture This (for two nights), Block Rockin’ Beats, The Waterboys, Kingfishr, Qween with the Dublin Gospel Choir, and The Kaiser Chiefs. These shows are one not to be missed.”
The Saw Doctors plus special guests will play Live at the Docklands on Friday, August 15. Tickets priced at €57.80 including booking fee go on sale this Friday, June 20 at 9am from Dolans.ie and Ticketmaster.ie.
