'Powerful and moving' - Viewers in tears at 'remarkable' guests on Tommy Tiernan Show

Saturday night's Tommy Tiernan Show has been lauded by viewers online for its amazing line-up of guests including athlete Dame Kelly Holmes, actor Mat Fraser and Forensic Specialist Oran Finegan.

All three of the guests have been praised online, as well as Tommy's interview skills. One person wrote on social media: "Now Tommy that was a great show tonight. Three great guests and fab interviewing."

In response to Saturday night's 10th episode of the season, someone else chimed in to say the show "gets better each week."

First up on the show was athlete and Loose Women star Dame Kelly Holmes and one of her stand-out moments from the interview was when Tommy asked her what it was like to grow up black in an all white family. Kelly spoke of the moment she became aware of this herself when another child in school asked her a question about it and that's when she began to think.

Viewers praised the athlete online for her "down to earth" response. People have said Kelly is "so genuine" and one person remarked: "I've always been a fan of Kelly's. Even more so tonight. Fabulous woman."

Actor and former Fair City star Mat Fraser also made an impact on Saturday night's show talking about his experiences as an actor and his appreciation of Fair City for inviting him onto the show when he struggled to find employment as a disabled actor. He said about the soap: "I was so grateful to be included. No one else included me in their world but I became part of Carrigstown for a bit."

Viewers have hailed Fraser as "an inspiration to us all" and commended him for his "fascinating interview."

In an episode with such great guests, it was the Forensic Specialist Oran Finegan that really stood out for viewers as spoke about his upcoming work as part of the team that will be excavating the site at the Tuam Mother and Baby Home in the coming months. Finegan said that an estimated 796 bodies are buried at the site.

Viewers were in awe at Finegan's story, with one person saying he is a "remarkable man" and another said they "could listen to this man all night."

One person aptly summarised the interview by saying: "Brilliant show tonight. That interview was so powerful and moving, fair play to him, could have listened to him all night, a great speaker."

His segment of the show has had a huge response online with viewers captivated by his retelling of his role in responding to one of Ireland's darkest moments.
