Limerick-based Grammy Award-Winning artist Rhiannon Giddens Picture: Ebru Yildiz
LIMERICK-based Grammy award-winning artist Rhiannon Giddens will be the keynote speaker for Your Roots Are Showing, Ireland's folk and traditional music conference next year.
She will also be the headliner for their first Folk In Fusion concert. The concert, which takes place on January 14, 2025 in the Gleneagle INEC Arena, will launch the conference, which will run from January 15 to 19 at The Gleneagle Hotel, Co Kerry.

Rhiannon has crafted an extraordinary career by blending historical roots with contemporary folk music which has earned her two GRAMMY Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and a MacArthur 'Genius' Grant. Known for her dedication to highlighting overlooked contributions in American music history, Rhiannon has become a pivotal figure in advocating for a comprehensive understanding of the country's musical origins through her art.
Co-founders Brendan McCreanor and Charlene Sloan said: "We are honoured to have Rhiannon Giddens join us as our keynote speaker. Her work resonates deeply with our mission of celebrating and preserving the rich traditions of folk music."
Rhiannon's latest album, 'You're The One,' showcases her versatility, featuring an array of musical styles from blues and jazz to Cajun and country.
