Irish musicians team up with popular US band for charity version of 'The Parting Glass'

An Irish folk band is teaming up with a popular American band to release a charity single of 'The Parting Glass'.

All net proceeds from the six-time Grammy nominated boygenius and Ye Vagabonds' single will benefit an after school program in Dublin.

The traditional song popular in Ireland and Mayo was exquisitely recorded by Sinéad O'Connor in 2002, and the cover art of the new 2023 track features a picture of the late singer.

The Sinéad O'Connor Estate has chosen the Aisling Project, an after-school project working with children and young people growing up in a disadvantaged area in Dublin, as the recipients of the proceeds.

The project serves over 150 children and young people from the age of 7 to 18+ years.

Each child and young person who attends Aisling Project receives a hot, nutritious dinner and is supported and helped to complete their homework.

Boygenius recently picked up six GRAMMY nominations for their debut album, the record, including the major categories of ‘Album Of The Year’ and ‘Record Of The Year’, with an additional nomination for the album in the category of ‘Best Engineered Album, Non Classical.’
