RTE Late Late Show viewers share same complaint after 'bizarre' interviews

RTE viewers were baffled by parts of the Late Late Show last night with many sharing the same complaints after the show ended.

One of the main complaints was the length of the discussion on artificial intelligence, one of the biggest talking points and technological advancements in recent years.

Journalist Anne-Marie Tomchak appeared on the show to discuss AI and was joined on the panel by Blindboy Boatclub from the Rubberbandits and Alistair Campbell, Tony Blair's former spokesman and campaign director.

One viewer labelled the chat "the shortest discussion on AI I've ever seen," adding that it was "hardly worth her time coming on."

Another added: "So, the Late Late get someone half interesting on, to talk about a very interesting subject (AI) - and they get five minutes. The band got longer. I don't know what the plan for this show is, but it's a mess at the moment."

A third said: "What a dreadful interview. Kielty speaks to expert Anne Marie about AI for about 1 minute and then brings Blind Boy in followed by Campbell who makes the medical argument the then goes back to the expert for seconds only. Obviously time issues. Worst ever."

Ireland rugby player Robbie Henshaw also appeared on the show alongside Tipperary Paralympian Peter Ryan who recently ran 100km a day to complete a 'top to toe' trek across Ireland for Vision Ireland (formerly known as NCBI).

Robbie Henshaw who was part of Peter's team for the fundraiser and the Westmeath sports star even gave viewers a tune on the accordion.

During Peter and Robbie's chat, Alistair Campbell appeared again playing the bagpipes. Guests and viewers were bemused again.

One commented: "That show has reached a new low under Kielty."

"No wonder the audience numbers are plummeting," a second added after watching Campbell play the Fields of Athenry on the bagpipes.
