Bob Geldof, Kyla Cobbler and Simon Zebo will join Patrick Kielty on Friday night

Bob Geldof, singer-songwriter, author, broadcaster and one of the most compelling humanitarian voices of our time, will join Patrick Kielty on The Late Late Show Friday night.

Bob will reflect on the impact and legacy of Live Aid, the iconic event of July 13 1985, watched by over 1.5 billion people worldwide – an event that rewrote music history and raised millions towards eradicating hunger and poverty.

He’ll look back at the events that led up to that momentous day, his favourite behind-the-scenes memories, and how it felt seeing the story transformed into the Olivier-nominated musical Just For One Day, which will come to Ireland next year.

Spandau Ballet star Gary Kemp, who also took to the Live Aid stage in Wembley Stadium, will reflect on his memories of the day that rocked the world.

Comedy sensation Kyla Cobbler will join Patrick to chat about her incredible year. Having sold out her upcoming 3Arena show, written her memoir, gotten married and announced her first pregnancy, she’ll tell Patrick why she is grateful for wins both big and small.

Coming straight from the turret for his Late Late Show debut, UK comedian and unwitting Traitor James Acaster will be in studio. He’ll talk about life on the dark side, holidays in Ireland and his new stand-up special.

Rugby star Simon Zebo will talk about how in an ideal world, he'd have been playing county for Cork, how clashing with Joe Schmidt landed him in Paris, and why his love of Munster runs so deep.

All this and lots more on The Late Late Show, tomorrow night at 9.35pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
