‘They were shaking and terrified’: Crate of puppies dumped outside in freezing cold

The puppies were abandoned outside as temperatures reached minus six degrees
A CRATE of four puppies were abandoned in the freezing cold in Dublin.
The “innocent souls” were dumped outside yesterday as temperatures reached low of minus 6 degrees.
Animal welfare charity, DSPCA, received a call about the abandoned puppies, which were found in a crate in a park in south Dublin.
“With the freezing temperatures we were very concerned for their lives and our inspector rushed to the scene,” they commented on social media.
The puppies are about eight weeks old.
“They were shaking and terrified and our main priority was to get them back to the warmth and safety of the shelter. Unfortunately, the puppies tested positive for parvovirus which can be fatal to young puppies and so they are being monitored closely in our isolation unit,” DSPCA added.
According to the charity, the situation could have been worse.
“We are absolutely lost for words as to how anyone could abandon helpless puppies in these freezing conditions. They would not have survived the night and today we could have been receiving a call about 4 dead puppies. Thankfully they were saved and we are grateful to the kind people who found them.”
