Limerick's newest community park was officially opened last week in the picturesque village of Loughill on the N69.
And what a park it is, with a fantastic playground, all-weather five-a-side pitch, riverside footpath, fairy garden and more. It's well worth a visit.
The Limerick Leader's notes correspondent for Loughill-Ballyhahill, Helen Ambrose, wrote of Pairc Abha Bhan, "All the hard work, planning, organisation and dedication of the project at last came to fruition last Sunday.
"This playground is testament to the dedication, competence and professionalism of this hard working committee in association with the huge number of voluntary workers who came forward and offered their services week after week for the past three years as well as the huge number of benefactors who also came forward wishing to be associated with the playground.”
Tributes were also paid to the woman who made the park possible, Mary McNamara who donated the site to the people of the parish.
