A SPECIAL charity rugby match took place last Friday night to honour the memory of Garryowen thirds player Shane Geoghegan who was shot in a case of mistaken identity 10 years ago.
Garryowen Veterans faced Crescent Comprehensive Former Pupils in the charity game which was played at Garryowen FC, Dooradoyle on Friday, November 9 at 7pm.
All proceeds from the night will go to the Share a Dream Foundation.
Former Ireland scrum-half Eoin Reddan and Munster and Leinster back row Liam Toland featured in the game, where it is ‘reported’ that there were as many soft tissue injuries as there were tries.
