In celebration of Aoife’s life mourners are requested to wear bright colours, something yellow if possible, to signify Aoife’s love of colour.

Her family described Portugal as “a place very close to Aoife’s heart”.
They expressed their “deepest appreciation” to the paramedics, doctors and staff of Ryanair, Shannon Airport and Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust for “all their care and support all this difficult time”.
Niall Collins TD expressed his “deepest sympathies and condolences” to Aoife’s family on behalf of himself and the local community.
“Our thoughts are with the family at this time following the tragic loss of their daughter. It’s hard to comprehend the loss of a child at such a young age, especially when she was supposed to be enjoying herself on what should have been a happy occasion of a foreign holiday.”
He added that he knows “friends and the community are rallying around the family in support of them at this time”.
Tributes have poured in on RIP.ie, with many remembering Aoife as “a beautiful, funny girl taken far too soon”.
Some mourners recalled Aoife’s “amazing sense of humour”, while others described her as “such a bubbly” person, “always with a smile”.
One person commented: “There truly are no words.”
Former Mayor of Limerick and councillor Gerald Mitchell said: “My deepest condolences to all the family relations and friends. May Aoife's gentle soul rest in eternal peace, so sad.”
Aoife was predeceased by grandparents John McCarthy and Rita and William O’Brien.
She will be “deeply missed and forever in the hearts of” her parents, sister, grandmother Helen McCarthy, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and a large circle of friends.
No flowers please. Donations, if desired, to Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
May she rest in peace.
