MICK Foley is famous as a wrestler but Limerick audiences will find out this week if his skills are transferable outside the ring when he brings his ‘spoken word tour’ to Dolan’s Warehouse.

A former WWE champion and now New York Times best-selling author, Foley has “exchanged the world of headlocks, steel chairs and punches for the world of stories, banter and punch-lines”.

He made his debut as a stand-up comic in 2009 at the Improv in LA, going on to tour around the United States, but this will be his first Irish tour.

“I am enormously excited and relieved about my upcoming comedy tour,” he says.

“Excited about the prospect of telling stories, hearing laughter and fielding questions from some of my most loyal and dedicated fans. Relieved that I finally have a real answer to the one of the two questions I’m most frequently asked: when are you coming back to Ireland? As far as that other question, about returning to WWE, I guess we’ll have to wait and see.”

See Mick Foley in Dolan’s Warehouse, Friday, November 4 @ 8pm. Tickets €25 (VIP price)/17.50. The Limerick Leader has a pair of tickets to giveaway in an online competition - email competitions@limerickleader.ie with ‘Mick Foley giveaway’ in the subject line and include contact details.
