THE SEARCH for the next Miss Limerick is well underway, but model agent Celia Holman Lee has expressed surprise that so few men are putting themselves forward to become Mr Limerick.

Some 22 females have signed up to take the crown from last year’s Miss Limerick Shauna Lindsay, while just two men have entered the Mr Limerick competition, which is still open to the public to enter - the only proviso being that all entrants have an Irish passport.

Celia said that previous restrictions on height have also been lifted, meaning that those head to head with Kate Moss’ 5”6’ or smaller still stand a chance of taking the Limerick - and potentially the national crown, to take over from last year’s hugely successful Miss Ireland, Aoife Walsh, from Tipperary.

The event will be launched this Tuesday, May 13, in The Orchard Bar, Granary, at 7pm. The launch will showcase all the contestants to date in this year’s final, which will take place on Tuesday, May 20.
