THOMOND remain second in the Ulster Bank League Division 2C table after picking up two bonus points in their 39-32 home defeat to Omagh on Saturday.

Free-scoring Thomond trail 2C leaders Sligo by just two points in the table after eight series of games. The Limerick side has picked up no fewer than five try bonus points in the league this season

Thomond led their Ulster opponents 25-13 at half-time at Liam Fitzgerald Park on Saturday, thanks to tries from Ger Finnucane, David O’Halloran and Darragh O’Neill who brought his tally of tries for the season to 10. Evan Cusack kicked the remaining points.

Cusack bagged the bonus point try for the home side after 56 minutes with the conversion making it 32-20.

However, Omagh racked up 19 unanswered points in the final quarter to secure an exciting victory.

Thomond return to action this Saturday when facing a trip to Donnybrook to take on ninth-placed Bective Rangers.
