THOUSANDS of people have been attending the annual solemn novena in Limerick this week.
Described as Limerick’s Fatima or Lourdes, the nine-day novena, one of the biggest in the country, will continue until this Saturday.
Redemptorist rector Fr Adrian Egan said there is “always a great sense of welcome” at the novena, where people gain strength and solace from being with others who are also “searching, yearning and looking for something”.
There are ten masses each day, from 7am to 10.30pm.
Limerick Leader photographer Adrian Butler was at the novena and has collated a slideshow of pictures of people attending the city event.
