Wian du Preez welcomes second stint
MUNSTER'S South African prop Wian du Preez is eagerly looking forward to his second stint with the province.
The 27-year-old Springbok began pre-season training with his Munster colleagues this week after returning to the province from South African Super 14 side the Cheetahs.
Du Preez signed a two-year deal with Munster in May after impressing while on loan with Tony McGahan's side in the middle of last season.
Members of the Munster squad - minus those on international duty during the summer - assembled in Thomond Park this week for fitness testing and kit allocation
Included at the get-together were two other squad newcomers, centre Sam Tuitupou and prop Peter Borlase.
Du Preez, who made six appearances for Munster in December and January, will again be based in Limerick.
The South African said: "I'm really delighted to be back and looking forward to my time here. I will once again live in Limerick where me and my wife enjoyed so much last time."
Kiwi prop Borlase is on a first trip to Ireland to meet the squad, but returns to New Zealand on Friday to prepare for the NPC Championship at the end of which he will return to Munster.
Those players who had missed the latter part of last season are all expected to feature at some stage in the pre-season friendlies against Leicester Tigers at Musgrave Park on August 20 and Gloucester seven days later.
Lock Paul O'Connell and the versatile Keith Earls are expected be available for the province in their early season Magners League games.
