Corbally's Ian O'Donoghue takes on the Ballynanty defence in their Munster Junior Cup tie last weekend

Eight games fell victim to the bad weather last Sunday, including the Munster Junior Cup third round tie between Newcastle West Rovers and Newcastle West.

Premier Division

The Killeaney pitch was unplayable for the Premier Division derby match against Glin Rovers but the two sides agreed to switch the game to Glin. After a scoreless first-half, things looked to be favouring Killeaney when John A. Culhane was dismissed in the 70th minute.

However, Glin made light of being a man down and went on to win 2-0 with late goals from Brian O’Donovan and Padraig Costello. The victory sees Glin leapfrog Killeaney out of the relegation zone.

Division 2

Rathkeale Reserves are back on top of Division 2 for the first time since the opening day of the season after their 2-1 victory at home to Ballysteen. They led 1-0 at half-time through a Bob Koegh cracker and Colin Barry doubled their advantage with another super strike before Mark Ranahan pulled a goal back for Ballysteen.

Division 3

Athea United B are five points clear in Division 3 after winning 3-0 at home to Knockaderry. Jason Quill scored the only goal of the first-half and Michael McCarthy and Shane Mulvihill added late goals.

Reidy Cup

There were seven goals in each of the two Reidy Cup quarter-finals played on Sunday. Broadford United B were well on top in their encounter, winning 5-2 at home to Newcastle West B with goals from Richard O’Shaughnessy, Paul Madigan, Jason Sheehan, Eoin O’Connor and Maurice O’Connor.

Breska Rovers won 4-3 away to Glantine. The visitors were 4-0 ahead before Glantine staged a gallant comeback with a brace from Colm McCarthy and a goal from Patrick O’Connor.

Richard Hogan Cup

Carrig Celtic B are through to the semi-finals of the Richard Hogan Cup thanks to a penalty shoot-out victory at home to Pallaskenry. It was 1-1 after extra-time and Carrig won 5-4 on penalties.

Division 1 League Cup

Ger Collins was the hero for Athea United in their 3-1 victory away to Askeaton in the first round of the Division 1 League Cup. Robert Carrig headed the home team in front but Collins had Athea 2-1 up at the break and he completed his hat-trick in the second-half.
