Limerick FC will play their first fixture back in the Premier Division of the Airtricity League at Thomond Park when the Blues host Cork City on Friday, March 8

LIMERICK FC will celebrate their return to the top flight of League of Ireland football when opening their 2013 Airtricity League Premier Division programme with a home tie against Cork City at Thomond Park.

The Munster derby takes place on Friday, march 8 and has a 7.45pm kick-off. The game will mark the first time in 19 years that Limerick FC has placed in the top flight of Irish football.

Limerick FC, currently on the hunt for a new manager, face their first away fixture a week later when they visit Hunky Dorys Park to take on Drogheda United.

Limerick face will face Premier League champions Sligo Rovers at the Shwgrounds on the weekend of Saturday, March 23. Shamrock Rovers will visit Thomond Park on Tuesday, April 2 for a 7.45pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, Limerick FC has been drawn away to the winners of Leeside or Avondale United in the fourth round of the Munster Senior Cup. The tie is due to take place on or before February 9/10, 2013. Should Limerick progress, the Blues will meet the winners of the Cork City v leeds or Douglas Hall tie in the semi-final.
