IMPROVING UL-Bohemian remain firmly in the promotion race in Division 1B of the All-Ireland League on the back of a plucky 15-9 win over Buccaneers at Dubarry Park on Saturday.

The Annacotty side will hope to continue their forward momentum when they lock horns with local rivals Bruff in a crucial derby tie at Thomond Park this Friday night (7.30pm).

UL-Bohs’ hopes of securing a fourth win in five outings looked decidedly uncertain when the Limerick side trailed 0-3 at half-time.

However, UL-Bohs’ produced a storming second half display to claim the four points on offer.

The visitors struck for two second half tries through front row forwards Dave Kilcoyne and Brian Walsh.

Out-half Ed Torrie landed five points with the boot.

UL-Bohs’ are now fifth in the table with seven wins from their 12 fixtures. Four of their five defeats have been by seven points or less, a statistic which highlights their competitiveness in the Division. UL-Bohs’ will enjoy home advantage for four of their six remaining fixtures in the regular season.
