The Castletroy College team who have qualified for the Munster Schools Junior Cup quarter-final after wins over St Clement's and Rockwell College

CASTLETROY College withstood a late Rockwell rally to advance to the Munster Junior Cup quarter-finals following a 14-12 win.

Castletroy were 14-7 clear when Rockwell went over for their second try in injury-time.

But they missed the resulting conversion, which would have tied the scores and presented victory to Rockwell by virtue of the opening try ruling.

Castletroy had opened the scoring when reliable out-half Conor Lenihan landed a penalty in the fourth minute.

But Rockwell hit back with a try from their centre in the 13th minute. When the conversion was added they led 7-3 midway through the opening half.

But Castletroy snatched the lead just before half time when No8 Ronan Murphy powered over for an 8-7 interval lead. Another penalty from Lenihan gave the Limerick side the ideal start to the second half.

All of 20-minutes later he landed another successful kick to open a 14-7 lead with just seven minutes remaining. Then came the late surge from Rockwell but Castletroy just about held on.
