THE Ulster Bank All-Ireland League cranks up a further gear this Saturday with Limerick’s seven representatives facing crucial fixtures.

Third-placed Young Munster, who picked up their first win of 2012 against struggling Blackrock College last weekend, face Munster rivals Cork Constitution at Tom Clifford Park this Saturday in the pick of the top flight fixtures.

Munsters’ weekend victory over ‘Rock kept Mike Prendergast’s side within four points of 1A table toppers St Mary’s College. Mark Doyle and Shane Hassett bagged tries for the Greenfields side, while Willie Staunton kicked 15 points with the boot. Bateman All-Ireland Cup finalists Garryowen face a difficult assignment against leaders St Mary’s College at Templeville Road. The ‘light blues’ did recorded their fifth win of the campaign when accounting for Dolphin on a 19-13 scoreline at Dooradoyle last weekend. Sixth-placed Garryowen had a try from Paul Neville, while Munster’s Declan Cusack kicked 14 points with the boot.

Shannon, currently eighth in the table, on the back of their 14-22 reverse at the hands of second-placed Clontarf, also travel to Dublin to face Lansdowne on the back pitch at the Aviva Stadium.

Stephen Keogh’s side suffered their fourth successive defeat of the AIL to ‘Tarf despite tries from Kevin Griffin and David Quinlan.

In Division 1B, sixth-placed UL-Bohemian will aim to keep their promotion push alive when they host struggling UCC at Annacotty or Thomond Park. UL-Bohs’ recorded an impressive 20-12 away victory over Dungannon at Stevenson Park last weekend when Martin McPhail and Rory White scored tries. Colm Tucker’s side are seven points off 1B leaders Ballynahinch. Relegation-threatened Bruff face a long trip to Eaton Park where they face Ballymena. Bruff remained second-from-bottom after suffering a disappointing 5-10 defeat to Galwegians at Crowley Park last Saturday.

In Division 2A, both Old Crescent and Thomond will be aiming to get back to winning way having suffered defeats last weekend. Old Crescent host Instonians at Rosbrien, while Thomond travel to Towns Park to face Midleton in two crunch fixtures. All games start at 2.30pm this Saturday.
