Limerick side lose Munster club final
Cappamore's Andy Murphy in action against Kenmare Shamrocks in the Munster Club JFC final in Mallow on Sunday
CAPPAMORE fell short in their bid to become Munster Club JFC champions in Mallow on Sunday when they were beaten 0-20 to 2-8 by Kerry champions Kenmare Shamrocks.
Kenmare started as the hottest of favourites but were made fight all the way by a spirited Cappamore side. Kenmare raced into a 0-7 to 0-0 lead but Cappamore fought back and a John Ryan goal saw them just five down at the break, 0-14 to 1-6.
The outstanding Paul O’Connor kept Kenmare in front in the second half but a brilliant Andy Murphy goal gave Cappamore a glimmer of hope. It wasn’t to be though as the Kerry side pulled clear at the finish.
