Croke Park league fixture for Limerick hurlers
The Limerick football final was the centrepiece of the weekend GAA schedule
THE Limerick hurlers will play Dublin in Croke Park in next year’s Allianz Hurling League on Saturday, March 16.
The game will be part of Dublin’s ‘Spring Series’ fixtures and will be the curtain raiser to the Dublin-Tyrone Allianz Football League game. It will be Limerick’s first hurling game in Croke Park since the All Ireland hurling semi-final in 2009, a game that Limerick were well beaten in by Tipperary.
Limerick, who were beaten in the Division 1B final by Clare last season, begin their campaign on February 24 at home to Antrim and they are at home again to Carlow on March 10, a game that forms part of a double header with the Limerick v Carlow football league tie.
The trip to Croke Park marks the start of a very important three-game spell for Limerick as they are away to Offaly eight days later and then at home to Wexford on March 31.
Allianz Hurling League Division 1B Fixtures
February 24 - Limerick v Antrim; March 10 - Limerick v Carlow; March 16 - Dublin v Limerick, 5.15; March 24 - Offaly v Limerick; March 31 - Limerick v Wexford
