Limerick author Judi Curtin to discuss writing at children's event

Best-selling author Judi Curtin will be in the Belltable this weekend for a children’s event

BEST-SELLING author Judi Curtin will be on stage in the Belltable this weekend discussing the friendships which have help inform her writing in her hugely successful line of children’s book.

Judi was due to be joined by fellow writer Cathy Cassidy, however Cathy has unfortunately been forced to cancel due to personal circumstances.

Judi will instead be speaking with author Patricia Forde in a questions and answers session about friendships past and present, and why she loves writing about good friends, in the Belltable this Saturday, October 15, from 12 noon to 1pm as part of the Lime Tree run Bualadh Bos children's festival.

She will also give a reading from her latest work.

“It’s lovely to meet the kids at these events. Writing can be such a solitary pursuit. It’s very sweet when they come up and tell you why they engage with the books or certain characters. It's very rewarding,” she told the Limerick Leader.

Limerick based Judi is the bestselling author of the Alice and Megan series and the Eva series, and her latest book is Time After Time, which was published last month by O’Brien Press.

It focuses on Molly and Beth, who are best friends but they aren't too happy when their families move in together. But when the two are accidentally transported back to the past, they have a chance to see the world through their parents’ eyes.

This is her 23rd book – 20 are for children and three for adults - and many of her previous books have been Irish bestsellers. Her work has also been published in Germany, Australia, Brazil and Spain.

Tickets for this Saturday’s Friendship Tales in the Belltable are €5, and can be booked online or at the door.
