HIGHLY rated musician Líosa Murphy plays a show in the Belltable this Saturday night.
Líosa, billed as the newest and most exciting female singer and whistle player in the Celtic music world today, plays with her band in the city venue this weekend.
Debut album Skylark gives Irish folk and traditional music a contemporary edge by mixing it up with electro pop, world rhythms and her own vocal percussions.
Expect gripping energy and beauty in each song or tune she performs, backed by her supreme band of musicians.
Líosa promises haunting ballads sung with emotion and honesty, such as John O’Dreams and Black is the Colour, to rip roaring sets of jigs and reels, seamlessly marrying electro pop, world rhythms as well as much loved songs such as Nancy Spain and Caledonia, and tunes such as The Drunken Landlady and The Skylark and Union Reels, creating a new sound journey for Irish folk and traditional music fans in the process.
