AN innovative and unique digital youth arts exhibition will be unveiled in Limerick School of Art and Design next week.

Swipe, a Learning Hub initiative backed by City of Culture and LIT, was launched first online earlier this month and will get a physical launch in LSAD, George’s Quay, next Wednesday and run until Thursday, October 15-16.

Submissions for the online exhibition were judged by professionals working in the competition categories of animation, visual communication, film and app development and coding.

The top three nominees in each category were uploaded online - along with other special pieces as chosen by the judges - with the results available to view on the Swipe festival website.

“We are excited to partner with Limerick School of Art and Design, LIT, on this two day festival which will culminate in our awards ceremony,” said a spokesperson for Swipe.

“We will welcome the wonderful Leanne Moore and former Ireland and Munster Rugby star Marcus Horan to present this ceremony and hope to have a great time celebrating the achievements of the nominees and overall winners.

“Swipe offers a really exciting opportunity for Limerick to showcase its youngest digital natives and all their talent and potential,” added the spokesperson.

Tickets are now available to the public for a guided tour around the Swipe exhibition next week.

Tickets are free but are limited and are available here.
