A VIDEO posted online that shows a girl being knocked over and her apparent partner brawling with two men on Limerick’s O’Connell Street has received close to 10,000 views on You Tube.

The video - ‘Limerick City Fight - Lads hit girlfriend, boyfriend knocks them out’ - was captured in the early hours of Saturday morning last, the Limerick Leader understands.

The young man who filmed the incident posted it to his Facebook profile not long after, receiving close to 300 ‘likes’ in the process. He has made no attempt to disguise the fact that he filmed the incident with his friends.

The video is freely available for viewing on the Facebook profile and was later uploaded to You Tube by a user called ‘MattyyMac’. It received more than 5,000 hits in one day this Wednesday.

It is understood that Gardai in Henry Street are aware of the incident, but that no complaint has been made about it.

The video shows an unidentified group arguing and then brawling on O’Connell Street. The girl in the video can be seen arguing with the men before a melee starts and she is knocked to the ground in the process.

The man with her then intervenes and struggles with the other two men, who he punches repeatedly and knocks to the ground before the video finishes abruptly.
