THE SECRET to capturing a woman’s heart? It seems that sharing your portion of curry chips sealed the deal for a Limerick based couple who are due to appear on RTE2’s Don’t Tell the Bride this week.

Eddie Kiely, 31, and Natasha Hosey, 28, will feature in the first episode of the fourth season of the hit show this Thursday, January 16, at 9.30pm.

With just three weeks to create their dream wedding, the groom, originally from Waterford, was left on his own at the couple’s Limerick apartment - complete with instructions for the washing machine - while Natasha returned home to stay with her dad in Waterford. The couple, who have been together for nine years, met on a night out in Tramore when Eddie won over the heart of the then 19 year-old by offering her some curry chips. After she eventually accepted his offer, he replied: “Now, that was our first meal together”.

After living in Vancouver for two years and travelling the world, the pair got engaged in Hawaii in May 2012 during a five week tour of the US before returning home, and are now settled in Limerick.

Natasha, who works in Brown Thomas in the city, admitted that she has been planning her wedding since she was a little girl, and revealed she had her doubts about handing over the reins to Eddie for their big day.

“Eddie was the one who applied for the show,” she said. “I wasn’t sure if I had the courage but in the end I thought it was a really romantic idea and I wanted to see if he knew me as well as I thought he did. It was really, really nerve-wracking, but it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be picked and it was an amazing experience. We are so glad we did it.”

The groom received €10,000 to organise their big day, and with no debts, they will honeymoon in Mexico for 10 days from this weekend.
