IAA to back John B Keane play in Limerick

THE Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is to sponsor John B Keane’s play Sive, which is to play in Limerick this autumn.

THE Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is to sponsor John B Keane’s play Sive, which is to play in Limerick this autumn.

Sive is run in the Limetree Theatre at Mary Immaculate College between Tuesday, October 28 and Saturday, November 1 next.

The new production of the play, which is renowned as one of the greatest Irish plays of the 20th century, is directed by Conall Mirroson, and performed by the AbbeyPlayers.

Eamonn Brennan, chief executive of the IAA said: “The IAA is committed to business and community initiatives and we are especially delighted to support the Limerick City of Culture and the production of John B. Keane’s classic, Sive.”

He said the industry body’s sponsorship of tyhe play “recognises the valuable contribution that Limerick’s NUI and IT provide to the industry – a sector that employs 26,000 people and contributes €4 bn to our national GDP.”
