A NEW musical play with a festive theme at its heart and a score by an in demand Golden Globe nominated composer opens in the Lime Tree Theatre next week for a number of performances.

ASA, A Christmas Story, a play filled with animation, live music and dance by writer Kasey Jones and composer Brian Byrne, opens on Monday evening, with two performances on Tuesday morning.

The piece, set in 1916, creates a magical world that comes to life and is a heartfelt story about a boy longing for his father on Christmas Eve.

With a touch of Christmas magic, Asa - played by Stephen Gallagher - is able to set his imagination free drawing himself into fantastical situations.

Featuring narration by Simon Delaney, and music by Byrne, the composer of Heartbeat Of Home, the play also features big screen animation by Dreambox Animation and choreography and solo dance by Breandan De Gallai.

Byrne is a Golden Globe nominated composer much in demand for his services in the film and music industries.
