ADMITTING to being a “panto virgin”, former Mr World Kamal Ibrahim said he nonetheless “jumped at the chance” to take the lead role in Aladdin.

The Thomondgate man will star alongside Leanne Moore, Twink, Richard Lynch and Myles Breen, Richie Hayes and Donncha O’Dea in the fully professional UCH panto this Christmas.

“I have never done panto before in my life,” laughed Kamal, who recently co-hosted the Miss World pageant with former popstar Myleene Klass.

“I have done a bit of acting before in London, but nothing of this scale or this ridiculousness, anything at all like this. I am a panto virgin in every sense of the word,” he laughed.

Leanne said the panto, the second Robert C Kelly production after last year’s hugely successful Cinderella, was now “such a part of Christmas”.

Twink, who turned down other cities to come back to Limerick, said the panto would be “chaotic, full of slapstick and fun”.

Aladdin opens in the UCH on December 20 and runs until January 5. See UCH.ie for details.
