A new performance work, Wake, received its premiere in Limerick this week.

The production, conceived by Limerick native Maeve Stone and Australian composer John Rodgers, opened on Tuesday as part of City of Culture.

Interestingly, the unique commission is being performed in a private residence somewhere in Limerick - with the audience only discovering the mystery location upon booking their tickets.

Wake, featuring the talents of acclaimed Irish dancer Katherine O’Malley, is described as a unique combination of music, performance, sound and video art, a “beautiful, melancholic and intimate Living Room Opera”.

The piece, which also features the work of composer/sound designer Tom Lane and musician Rory Grubb, runs until Sunday, July 20, with shows starting at 8.15pm.

See www.limetreetheatre.ie for tickets.
