Munster drawn with Racing, Glasgow and Leicester

Munster have been handed a tough European Champions Cup pool where they will play Racing 92, Glasgow and Leicester in the 2016-2017 competition.

Munster were among the lowest-ranked sides in Tier 4 because of finishing sixth in the Guinness Pro12 last season and so knew they were in for a tough pool. Racing - who will have Ronan O'Gara among their coaching staff - have recently been crowned Top 14 champions while Glasgow are the best of the non-Irish Pro12 sides. Leicester beat Munster twice in last season's competition and the two clubs share one of Europe's top rugby rivalries.

However, despite the tough nature of Munster's opponents, the home games should attract big crowds to Thomond Park, something which will be warmly welcomed in Munster Rugby headquarters.
