Three Limerick sides face crucial Kennedy Cup ties

THE three Limerick representatives in this year’s 40th Kennedy Cup at UL face crucial fixtures this Wednesday as the knock-out stages of the competition begins.

The Limerick Desmond face pre-tournament favourites the Dublin and District Schoolboy League (DDSL) in one of the Kennedy Cup quarter-finals at 5pm today.

Limerick Desmond qualified for the last eight stage by topping their group with wins over the Midlands and Clare Leagues as well as a draw with local rivals the Limerick and District Schoolboy League (LDSL).

The LDSL will play-off for places 25 to 32 after finishing bottom of that group, taking one point from their three fixtures.

The LDSL begin the play-off series against the Carlow League in the Trophy quarter-finals at UL this Wednesday at 3pm.

The Limerick County League also finished bottom to their pool, picking up a draw in their final group game against West Cork on Tuesday evening.
