Limerick rugby players shortlisted for club awards

SEVERAL Limerick-based players have been short-listed for the Ulster Bank League Awards will take place in Dublin tomorrow, Wednesday, night.

Young Munster hooker and captain Ger Slattery, Conor Kindregan, of Cork Constitution, and Mick McGrath, of Clontarf, are nominated for the Division 1A Player of the Year award.

Young Munster out-half Gearoid Lyons, who is set to join English Championship side Nottingham Rugby has been shortlisted in Division 1A Young Player of the Year category alongside Joey Carbery, of Clontarf, and UCD’s Peadar Timmins.

David Corkery is among the three nominees for Division 1 A coach of the year, while Munsters’ excellent second row Sean Duggan is among the nominees for the Ulster Bank Player of the Year provincial winner for Munster.

Old Crescent’s Brendan Guilfoyle and Bruff’s Tony Cahill are among the nominees for the Division 2C Player of the Year award.

The awards recognise and celebrate the dedication and commitment shown by players, coaches and teams, across all AIL divisions. The Ulster Bank League Awards will be presented by Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt at the Aviva Stadium.
