Called up: Munster's Jack O'Donoghue
MUNSTER back-row forward Jack O’Donoghue has been called up to the Ireland 6 Nations squad for the final two rounds of fixtures.
O'Donoghue as one of eight Munster representatives in Joe Schmidt’s 36 man squad for the remaining two 6 Nations fixtures, beginning with Saturday’s clash with Italy at the Aviva Stadium, 1.30pm.
Twenty two-year-old O’Donoghue in this his first season with the Munster senior squad and the Academy graduate has already made 20 appearances for the provinces, including appearing in every European Cup game.
The versatile O’Donoghue has played across each of the three back-row positions this season.
After previously representing Ireland U18 Clubs, Ireland U19s and captaining Ireland U20s at the 2014 Junior World Cup in New Zealand, the UL-Bohemian clubman has now been included in his first Ireland senior squad. He is one of two uncapped players to gain inclusion.
Joining O'Donoghue in the Ireland training squad are Dave Foley, Tommy O'Donnell, Donnacha Ryan, CJ Stander, Keith Earls, Conor Murray and Simon Zebo.
