Munster coach Anthony Foley
THE Munster team to play Treviso in Sunday’s Guinness Pro12 game in Italy shows six changes from the side that was beaten by Glasgow last weekend.
Out go Niall Scannell, Dave Foley, Tommy O’Donnell, Tomas O’Leary, David Johnston and Ronan O’Mahony with Mike Sherry, Mark Chisholm, Dave O’Callaghan, Duncan Williams, Francis Saili and Gerhard van den Heever all coming in.
Dave Foley and Tommy O’Donnell both linked up with the Irish squad this week but weren’t picked for the trip to Twickenham and Saturday and so were released back to Munster and are named on the bench. James Cronin, who was on the Ireland squad for the first two Six Nations games, is injured and won’t play any part.
Duncan Williams is preferred to Tomas O’Leary, who is out of the matchday 23 altogether as Cathal Sheridan is included for the first time since his recovery from injury while van den Heever is also welcomed back in, in place of Ronan O’Mahony.
Francis Saili makes a welcome return from injury to team up with Rory Scannell once again in midfield.
Sunday’s game is at 2pm in Italy and is not live on TV. Munster Rugby will be providing updates on Twitter.
The Munster team in full is: Andrew Conway; Darren Sweetnam, Francis Saili, Rory Scannell, Gerhard van den Heever; Ian Keatley, Duncan Williams; Dave Kilcoyne, Mike Sherry, John Ryan; Mark Chisholm, Billy Holland; Jack O’Donoghue, Dave O'Callaghan, Robin Copeland.
Replacements: Niall Scannell, Peter McCabe, Mario Sagario, Dave Foley, Tommy O’Donnell, Cathal Sheridan, Cian Bohane, David Johnston
