AIL action for Limerick's Division 2 teams this weekend

Action continues in Division 2A, 2B and 2C of the Ulster Bank League this weekend with Thomond, Old Crescent and Bruff all facing crucial fixtures.

In Division 2A, Thomond host fellow strugglers Skerries at Liam Fitzgerald Park.

While Thomond sit in ninth place in the Division 2A table, Saturday’s opponents Skerries lie in eighth, five points above the Limerick side.

Thomond suffered a 27-18 defeat away to Naas on Saturday to remain second-from-bottom in the table, ahead of basement side Corinthians on mere points difference.

Thomond have won just twice in the AIL this season and are on a four-game losing run. Saturday’s opponents Skerries lost to Nenagh Ormond last time out.

Meanwhile, in Division 2C this weekend, high-flying Old Crescent host Sligo at Rosbrien on Saturday.

While leaders Old Crescent have won nine times this season in the AIL, Sligo have claimed just two victories including a home win over Bruff last time out.

Crescent enjoy a 31 point lead over Sligo in the Division 2C table.

Old Crescent cemented their place at the top of the table thanks to a 52-5 drubbing of Dundalk RFC at Rosbrien last weekend when the home side scored eight tries. Old Crescent are now five points clear of second-placed Tullamore.

Fourth-placed Bruff host Wanderers at Kilballyowen Park also in 2C. Bruff trail the Dublin side by two points in the table.

Bruff will look to bounce back to winning ways after their disappointing 16-14 defeat away to Sligo last weekend.
