Limerick junior champions Monaleen face Waterford opposition
LIMERICK junior B hurling champions Monaleen play in the Killeedy GAA run Munster junior B hurling championship this Sunday.
The Limerick city club will face Waterford’s Dunhill in Raheenagh at 2.00 in the provincial quarter final.
The sides are battling for a December 6 semi final against the Tipperary representatives.
The second quarter final takes place on November 29 between Shanballymore (Cork) and Austin Stacks (Kerry).
Monaleen are managed by Ger Maughan, with selectors Paul Coleman, John O’Halloran and Phil O’Dell.
Captained by Niall Macken, Monaleen beat Granagh-Ballingarry in the county final in the Gaelic Grounds.
The Castletroy based side will have former Newcastle West man Ollie McCoy in goals. Key in defence will be John Bartley and Finbarr Nash.
In the middle third they have Pa McCarthy and Dan Power.
Central to their attack are Alan Kitson, Paddy O’Halloran and former Na Piarsaigh man David Hennessy.
