CRESCENT College Comprehensive remain on course for a big double after their Junior Cup side defeated Glenstal Abbey 25-7 in their Munster Schools Junior Cup semi-final clash at Rosbrien this Thursday.

Crescent outscored their opponents by four tries to one reach the Junior Cup decider for the fourth time in five seasons. The Crescent side will travel to Cork to take on PBC in the Munster Schools Junior Cup decider on March 26.

Before that, the Crescent College Senior Cup side will face local rivals Ardscoil Ris in the Munster Schools Senior Cup final at Thomond Park at St Patrick’s Day at 3pm.

Crescent never looked in any real danger of losing their Junior Cup semi-final clash with Glenstal once they hit the front with a try from full back Brian Ryan on fifteen minutes which he also converted.

The Dooradoyle side extended their advantage to 12-0 at half-time with a second try from Kelvin Brosnahan on the stroke of half time. Plucky Glenstal got back in the game early in the second half with a try from Ben Moloney which Ben Healy converted.

That was as good it was to get for the Murroe side, however, as two tries from centre Daniel Hurley and a penalty by full-back Ryan ensured Crescent will be facing PBC in the decider on Wednesday week.
