Munster beat Ospreys to stay top of Heineken Cup Pool Three

MUNSTER secured a crucial win in the Heieneken Cup over the Ospreys.

MUNSTER secured a crucial win in the Heieneken Cup over the Ospreys.

Doug Howlett and Ronan O'Gara scored a try and a penty apiece, while two Dan Bigger penalties kept last season's Magners League Champions in the game at half time, Munster leading 8-6.

After the re-start, Tommy Bowe put the Ospreys a brief lead, with a try, converted by Dan Biggar. But David Wallace and Johne Murphy crossed the line shortly after.

Paul O'Connell, on his comeback from injury, saw red for elbowing Jonatham Thomas.

The win consolidates Munster's position at the top of Heineken Cup Pool Three, ahead of the return game with the Ospreys in Swansea next weekend.
