STAR MAN: Captain Ronan Murphy represented Munster at U-19 level this season. The promsing Murphy played at numbers six and eight on last year’s Senior Cup side.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS: Hooker Mark O’Mara is a nephew of former Munster and Ireland prop Peter Clohessy. O’Mara played for Munster Schools and is on the Irish Schools panel.

PROSPECTS: They open their campaign against pre-Cup second favourites Glenstal. Castletroy are backboned by players who won the 2013 Junior Cup. Their impressive back-row of David Rowsome, Ronan Murphy and Niall O’Shea is a formidable unit, while centre Ronan Mc Donnell is a very classy player.  The front row of Conway, O’Mara Myers is a formidable unit. Glenstal may be favourites, but Castletroy could spring a surprise.
