A GOLDEN period for Limerick school’s rugby is set to continue this week with four sides from the city contesting the semi-finals of the SEAT Munster Schools Senior Cup.

Crescent College Comprehensive’s convincing 15-3 quarter-final replay win over PBC at the Mardyke yesterday ensures the Cup will remain on Shannonside for another season.

Holders Crescent College will take 2008 Munster Schools Senior Cup winners Castletroy College in one semi-final , scheduled to take place in Limerick this Friday.

Before than, St Munchin’s College and Ardscoil Ris will face-off in the first of the semi-finals this Wednesday.

Venues and kick-off times for both games will be confirmed later today, Monday.

Castletroy College defeated Glenstal Abbey at UL in their quarter-final in mid-February, while St Munchin’s College scored an impressive quarter-final win over Rockwell College on Wednesday last.

On the same day, gritty Ardscoil Ris also advanced to the semi-finals, thanks to a thrilling victory over CBC, of Cork, at Dooradoyle.

The final of the SEAT Munster Schools Senior Cup is due to take place on St Patrick’s Day.
