CLASSY Castletroy College stunned a fancied Rockwell College side 20-13 to get their SEAT Munster Schools Senior Cup campaign off to a winning start at Clanwilliam FC this Tuesday.

Tries from flanker Conor Humphreys and centre David Rowsome, together with a penalty goal from the boot of full-back Conor Linehan, helped the Limerick side into a useful 13-6 interval lead.

Rockwell drew level mid-way through the second half when hooker Luke Hickey crashed over for their only try. However, the Tipperary side had a player red-carded in the 58th minute after the intervention of a touch judge following an off-the-ball incident. Castletroy took full advantage of their numerical advantage when exciting centre John Fox scored a terrific solo try after gaining possession on the half-way line. Linehan’s successful conversion sealed the Castletroy win
