The on-track action features Munster’s oldest race, the Ladbrokes Munster National, won by the Noel Meade-trained Muirhead 12 months ago.

Total prizemoney on the day will be euro200,000 as the National Hunt season kicks into full swing. The opening race is due off at 2.30pm.

Limerick Racecourse have teamed up with Limerick GAA to offer a special admission price of euro20 to the racing action on October 14 and this Sunday’s county senior hurling final between Adare and Kilmallock at the Gaelic Grounds. See www.limerickraces.ie or www.tickets.ie to avail of the offer.

Limerick Racecourse held a coffee morning in aid of The Irish Hospice Foundation recently as part of Ireland’s largest coffee morning in The Hunt Museum. Guests were treated to tea/coffee and cupcakes, with €500 raised for Hospice services.

The event also doubled as the launch of the Ladbrokes Ireland Munster National and Keanes Jewellers Ladies Day. Vintage is the theme of the day in honour of the oldest race in Munster dating back to the 1920’s. Vintage & Glamour is the inspiration for the Keanes Jewellers Ladies Day, where the fashion stakes will be high for the best dressed lady competition with the lucky winner walking away with a diamond ring worth €4,000.

Racegoers looking to enjoy the racing action from the comfort of the track’s Panoramic restaurant can avail of an exclusive package to include admission, racecard, lunch, glass of bubbly, reserved seating, and live music with Shaun O’Dowd. A fashion show presented by Isobel’s Boutique will display this season looks. The Limerick Mini Marathon takes place from 12pm at UL on Sunday, October 14.
