Vistakon currently employs more than 700 people in Limerick

CONTACT lens manufacturer Vistakon has created 18 new managerial roles, which will be on offer at a special jobs event in Dublin.

The firm, which currently employs 700 people at the National Technology Park in Plassey, is seeking project manufacturers, specialist engineers, manufacturing process managers and lead quality engineers among a number of other roles open to graduates.

Open in Limerick for more than 15 years, Vistakon is one of the largest contact lens manufacturers in the world.

Further jobs are expected at the plant soon, after its parent company Johnson and Johnson secured planning permission to open a new line in Plassey.

Meanwhile, another batch of jobs are also on offer at Intel’s headquarters in Shannon.

Management at the Shannon silicon engineering centre are seeking process engineers, product development engineers, test engineers, and hardware engineers among others.

All positions are on offer at the Jobs Expo 2012 event, which takes place this Friday and Saturday.

Jobs will also be on offer for a variety of companies across the country, and in Canada.

Firms also recruiting include Aldi, which has two branches in the city. It is seeking management staff.

The event takes place in Croke Park’s Hogan Suite between 11am and 5pm across the two days.
