Limerick soccer fixtures set to resume this week

After two weeks of inactivity due to the referees’ dispute, local junior soccer will return to Limerick next weekend with a full round of league fixtures.

Representatives from the two parties involved in the dispute over the referees’ expenses - the LDMC and the local referees - attended a meeting in FAI headquarters in Dublin last Thursday where a proposal was put forward.

It was agreed that fixtures be made for next weekend while the two groups go back to their members to discuss the new arrangement.

It is believed there will be an increase in payments for the referees.

Next weekend sees league fixtures in all divisions while the FAI Junior Cup goes centre stage on the weekend of November 23/24.
