Card Game: The winners of first prize at this weeks card game were Marian, Roche, Ned Murphy and Noel Murphy. After a six way playoff to decide second place the prize money went to Toddy O Connor, John Lane and Seamus Lenihan. The table prize was won by Daisy Lenihan, Rita Lenihan and Lena O Connor. The winner of the door prize was John Murphy with the raffle prizes going to Tom Lenihan, Connie Lenihan, Dan Brosnan, Dan Reidy and Ann Cahill. Cards as usual next Thursday night at 9pm in the Community Centre and all are welcome.
Car Booth Sale: The annual car booth fund raising sale will be held in the Mountcollins Community Centre on Sunday, December 8th from 11am to 3pm. Why not come along and pick up a bargain for Christmas with all goods available at reasonable prices. Outside stall holders are welcome, please contact Mary, Joanie or Marian for booking.
Soccer Lotto: The numbers drawn last weeks soccer lotto were 7, 15, 25 and 26. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. The winners in the lucky dip draw were Martin McGrath, Ballyduff, Co.Kerry, Paul Keogh, Tournafulla, Mary Philips, Monagea, Danny Guiney, Rockchapel and Monika Kafel, Knocknagoshel. The winner of the promoter’s prize was Julie Murphy. This week’s jackpot will be €12,700.

G.A.A. Lotto: The members drawn in last weeks Mountcollins / Tournafulla G.A.A. lotto were, 7, 10, 13 and 25. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. Lucky dip prizes went to Aiden Keogh, Tournafulla, Claire Winter, C/o Billy Smith, Dan Hartnett, Tournafulla and Mike O Connor, Kostal. The winner of the promoters prize was Jamie Lenihan. This weeks draw will be held in Keatings Bar, Tournafulla where the jackpot will be 2,200 and your support is appreciated.
Under 21 Football: Newcastle West produces a strong performance in the final ten minutes of the county under 21 football championship to defeat Feale Rangers by 3-9 to 2-11 at Mick Neville Park on Friday night last. The Mountcollins/Athea combination played some great football in the opening half and were full value for their 2-8 to 1-4 half time lead. Rangers were well in contention with ten minutes remaining but the Magpies sealed victory with some well worked scores and now look to be the team to beat in the competition with full points on the board. Next fixture for Feale Rangers is a must win game against St. Kierans if they are to maintain an interest in the competition. GAA News: Yearly lotto tickets for the local GAA lotto draw are now available for a once off payment of €100. The payment of €100 entitles you to entry into the weekly draw plus two free draws, club membership and the club text messaging service which gives you all the news on games, fixtures and results. The yearly lotto is available to people at home and abroad. There will be a letter delivered to every house in the parish with details on how to join if you wish to do so and your support would be greatly appreciated. The club membership fee for the year has been set at €30 for adults and €10 for students.
Sale of Work: The annual sale of work will be held in the Mountcollins, Community Centre on Friday December 6th at 7.30pm. Items for the sale or donations can be given to any committee member and your support for the event would be greatly appreciated.
Charity run/walk: A 5k run/walk was held in Mountcollins on Sunday last as a fundraiser for the Ray of Sunshine Foundation. With up to 200 participants the event proved to be a huge success with young and old taking on this tough 5k route. All participants were treated to some well-deserved refreshments after the event and the organisers would like to thank everyone who took part.
Tea Dance: A Tea Dance will be held in Fr. Casey’s Gaa club on Sunday December 8th. Music will be provided by Donnie Walsh with dancing from 3pm to 6pm. Refreshments and spot prizes will be available during the evening. All proceeds in aid of The Ray of Sunshine foundation which will see local volunteers, Mary Barry, Patrick Lenihan and Seamus Hickey travel to Kenya in January 2014 to help in the construction of a school for deprived children in Mombasa.
